The owner of the popular night club Shina Peller , was also arrested by policemen for allegedly mobilising thugs to invade the police station.So far, the Shina Peller’s arrest and club Quilox shut down has generated mixed reactions from Nigerians on Twitter.
▪️The Nigeria Army Have Extended Their Operation In The South-East And South-South▪️The Nigerian Army has extended Operation Atilogwu Udo in the South-East, Crocodile Smile in the South-South, and Ayem Akpatuma in the North-Central zone by two weeks, saying the move was to consolidate the successes recorded.▪️The army said on Sunday that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, called on Nigerians to give support and information to the military to nip more crimes in the bud during the extension.▪️According to the acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa, the regional exercises would now end by January 7, 2020, and not Monday, December 23, 2019, as earlier noted.

N7.65Billion Fraud: Ex Gov. Orji Kalu Jailed Finally, a former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, who was prosecuted on a 27 counts by the EFCC has been jailed.Kalu, now a Senator representing Abia North at the National Assembly, was jailed by a Federal High Court, sitting in Lagos and presided over by Justice Mohammad Idris. He was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for N7.65bn fraud.Also convicted and sentenced are two other accomplices, his firm, Slok Nigeria Limited and Udeh Udeogu, who was Director of Finance and Accounts at the Abia State Government House during his tenure as governor. It would be recalled that in the last couple of weeks troops location in Mallam Fatori has been under repeated attacks by Boko Haram Terrorists. However, on each of those occasions, troops have robustly defended their location, counter - attacked and inflicted heavy losses in personnel and equipment on Boko Haram.The maiden visit of the new Force Commander, Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Ibrahim Manu Ibrahim, to troops in the front line, therefore, provided the opportunity to reward the gallant soldier.Recommending Private Illyasu Bala to the Force Commander for automatic promotion, the Commanding Officer 118 Task Force Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Murtala Aminu said "Private Illyasu Bala who is only 3 years in service has been exemplary, courageous and a source of inspiration to his peers. His gallantry in the face of the enemy has been exceptional". *PRESS RELEASE**NIGERIAN ARMY TROOPS RECORD A SECOND SUCCESSIVE VICTORY AGAINST BOKO HARAM CRIMINAL ELEMENTS IN MALAM FATORI WITHIN 24 HOURS*In what could be adjudged as another futile revenge mission, some uncoordinated and cowardly remnants of the Boko Haram/ISWAP criminal elements staged yet another unsuccessful attack on the location of the troops of 64 and 98 Task Force Battalions and elements of the Armed Forces Special Forces Battalion at Malam Fatori in Abadam LGA of Borno State. It could be recalled that on 13th November 2019, some marauding Boko Haram criminal elements attempted to infiltrate the troops’ location by launching an unsuccessful attack with Person Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (PBIEDs), Gun Trucks, Rocket Propelled Guns and other small arms but were decisively annihilated, having been made to suffer very high casualties in both men and equipment. Within less than 24 hours of their devastating defeat however, the outgunned criminal insurgents launched another desperate attack on the highly spirited troops of Mallam Fatori in the wee hours of today, 15 November 2019.In their swift and highly coordinated response, the gallant and relentless troops at the location once again brought their resilience, bold action and superior fire power/lethality to bear on the criminal insurgents as they handed them another crushing defeat. At the end of this particular encounter, one Boko Haram Gun Truck was completely burnt along with 3 of the criminal insurgents that were trapped in it.Apparently, the vehicle was gutted by fire as a result of the high volume of fire delivered by the troops. Furthermore, 2 of the Boko Haram criminal elements were equally neutralised during the ensuing gun battle between the troops and the criminal insurgents. Some of the equipment captured from the criminal insurgents during this futile mission include one Anti-Aircraft Gun, one Anti-Aircraft Gun barrel, 8 AK 47 Riffles, one Rocket Propelled Gun tube, 3 AK 47 magazines, one bandolier, 2 rounds of Anti-Aircraft Gun ammunition and one Rocket Propelled Grenade bomb. Subsequently, the Air Task Force, Operation LAFIYA DOLE went on the trail of the routed remnants of the insurgents to ensure their total obliteration. Regrettably, 2 gallant soldiers sustained gunshot wounds during this encounter. The Nigerian Defence Academy has marked another milestone as Major General Adeniyi Oyebade hands over the mantle of leadership to Major General Jamilu Sarham. In his remarks before the handing over, General Oyebade revealed that his 2 years tenure was a successful journey with many challenges and achievements which according to him has impacted the lives of cadets, staff and many others who in one way or the other have interacted with the Academy. He appreciated the entire Academy Staff for their support during his tenure, urging them to give their full support to the new Commandant. In his response, the new Commandant Major General Sarham who is the 29th Commandant of the Academy assumed office with a promise to move the institution a greater height. He commended the outgone Commandant for his tremendous contributions and achievements.
